Michael is a 1997 graduate of the Widener
University School of Law, where he served as an editor of its law
review and the winner of its Distinguished Service Award for 1996.
He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he
received a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry.
Michael's science
and technical background is of benefit to his clients'
businesses. He is a member of the firm's professional
liability practice group, defending claims against laboratories,
health care providers, and medical device manufacturers and
distributors. He has handled lawsuits concerning
pathology, microbiology, phlebotomy, and drug testing issues.
He has successfully defended lawsuits on a regional basis,
including lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia,
Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, and Arkansas.
Michael defends
local municipalities, counties, government entities, and
officials who are accused of excessive force, police abuse, and
violations of constitutional rights.
Michael also
maintains an active appellate practice, having prevailed in
appeals before the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior, and
Commonwealth Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for
