Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 1997; in West Virginia in 2000.  Also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Up Close And Personal

Michael is a partner in the firm and a member of the firm's professional liability practice group and its employment and civil rights group.  He has defended claims against laboratories, health care providers, and medical device manufacturers and distributors, including lawsuits concerning pathology, microbiology, phlebotomy, and drug testing.  His practice had been on a regional basis, including lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, and Arkansas.

Michael's practice also emphasizes the defense of employment discrimination and civil rights claims.  He has defended claims alleging race, age, and gender discrimination, as well as claims brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Michael also maintains an active appellate practice, having prevailed in appeals before the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Michael is a 1997 graduate of the Widener University School of Law, where he served as an editor of its law review and an officer of its trial advocacy honor society.  He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he received a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry.

Michael lives in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh with his wife, Judi.
