Up Close and Personal
Sarah Weissman is an associate at Meyer Darragh's Pittsburgh
office where she is engaged in civil defense litigation. Sarah's
work includes defending civil rights and employment discrimination
claims, construction and commercial disputes, municipal work,
worker’s compensation claims and insurance related issues.
She first joined Meyer Darragh in June of 2008 as a summer
associate. Sarah is a 2009 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Duquesne
University's
School of Law. In law school, Sarah was actively involved with
the law school’s magazine, Juris, named “Best Law School Magazine”
by the American Bar Association while Sarah served as the magazine
associate editor. During her third year, Sarah served as
Editor-in-Chief of Juris, and on the editorial board of the Duquesne
Law Review as a research editor. During law school, Sarah also completed two
judicial externships; one with former Pennsylvania Supreme Court
Justice Cynthia Baldwin and one with the Honorable Judge Donetta Ambrose of the United States District Court for the
Western District of Pennsylvania. Sarah is a past recipient of the
Honorable Carol Los Mansmann Scholarship in recognition of
“exemplary academic performance and desire to make a difference in
the legal profession,” from the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. She
was selected by her peers and the faculty at the law school as the
Distinguished Female Law Graduate from the class of 2009, an award
given by the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Sarah received her undergraduate degree from the University of
Pittsburgh, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in media
communications. Prior to graduating college, she worked for upscale
retailers while living in Boston, Massachusetts and in Pittsburgh.
Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys running, yoga and spending time
with her family. She currently lives in the Regent Square
neighborhood of Pittsburgh with her young son, Isaac. |
