Up Close And Personal

Dan Lawson has brought to his practice of law a certain tenacity that emerged during his service as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. "Zealously representing the client's interests means you never slacken." His early years of practice involved a heavy concentration of personal lines insurance defense matters. As this insurance defense practice grew in terms of complexity and the amount of client risk, it provided Dan with the benefit of experience from over 70 jury trials to verdict.

After graduating from Dickinson College, Dan had entered the Marine Corps, serving four years of active duty, followed by another nine years in the active reserves, where he attained the rank of Major. Dan has been a partner of the firm since 1988 and currently serves on the three-member Management Committee. Dan is also a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. In 1995, Dan represented PHH, a relocation company now known as Cartus Corporation, in connection with several litigation matters pending in Western Pennsylvania. In 1998, Dan became national litigation counsel for Cartus, a position which involves managing and directing the defense of cases across the country. Within the tort arena, Dan has more recently confined his practice to entities which hold premises open for the entertainment or accommodation of the public, to include outdoor concert venues, professional sports stadiums, theaters, the Pittsburgh Zoo, amusement parks, and other such locations.
